Privacy
The short version: Field Recce keeps your recces on your phone. In the current release nothing leaves the device at all, except a nearest-A&E lookup, which sends a search to Apple, and whatever you choose to send yourself when you share a report PDF.

What the app collects, and where it goes

What we don't do
- No third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. The app contains none.
- No selling or sharing of personal data, ever.
- No background location tracking.
- No access to your camera roll unless you choose to import a photograph.
Report links
Not in the current release. The app sends a report as a PDF; report links need the EXT. service, which is not live. This section describes how they will work when they ship, and applies to no data today.
A report link is a page holding the recce you chose to share. The link itself is the credential: anyone holding it can view the report and record a decision, so treat it as you would a private document. Links do not expire, and you can revoke any link from the report screen at any time, which takes it offline immediately.
Submitting a location to EXT.
Not in the current release. Sending a recce to EXT. from inside the app is not in this version; listings are arranged with EXT. directly. This section describes how it will work when it ships.
When you submit, the recce you selected — photographs, measurements, plan, readings and notes — is sent to EXT. Locations for review. You confirm at that point that you have the owner's permission to offer the location. If a listing is published we may show the photographs and details publicly on extlocations.co.uk. You can ask us to withdraw a listing at any time.

Deleting your account
In the current release the app holds no account and sends us nothing, so there is nothing for us to delete: remove a recce in the app, or delete the app to remove everything at once. When accounts ship, Settings → Account → Delete account will remove the account, any listings still in review and any report links, immediately and irreversibly. You can also email privacy@incolor.film and we will do it for you.
One Sheet
One Sheet is a call sheet app for iPhone. Everything you type — productions, days, call times, locations, unit and talent contacts, suppliers, notes — is stored on your phone only, in the app's own storage. It has no account, no server and no analytics, and uses no advertising identifiers or third-party SDKs. The app's privacy manifest declares no data collection.
Sunrise and sunset are calculated on the phone from coordinates you type in. The app does not request your location.
When you publish a call sheet, One Sheet renders a PDF and hands it to the iOS share sheet. The PDF goes only where you send it; we never see it.
To delete everything, use Delete all data in the app's menu. Deleting the app has the same effect. Because nothing is stored elsewhere, there is nothing further to delete. Questions about One Sheet: jonny.kight@incolor.film.
Disc One
Disc One is an app for Apple TV and iPhone that turns the videos in your Photo Library into a box set. It reads your Photo Library with the permission you give it, and never writes to it, edits it or uploads from it. Your videos and photos never reach us.
What you add in the app — disc and chapter names, cast lists, covers, your family name and hidden clips — is stored on your device and synced between your own devices through your private iCloud database, which Apple holds for you and we cannot read. It has no account with us, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDKs.
To title chapters and credits with a town name, the app asks Apple's geocoding service (part of iOS and tvOS) to turn the location saved with a clip into a place name, and keeps the answer on the device. If a clip has no location, nothing is sent. Purchases go through the App Store; Apple handles payment and no payment data reaches us.
If you join the release list on incolor.film/disc-one, we keep your email address, with your consent, to send one message when the app ships. Ask us to remove it at any time. To delete everything else, delete the app; to remove the synced copy as well, remove Disc One's data from iCloud storage in your device settings. Questions about Disc One: privacy@incolor.film.
Messages to In Color and EXT. Locations
If you send a direct message to the In Color or EXT. Locations accounts on Instagram, or to our Facebook Pages on Messenger, Meta passes us the message through a private app called Front Desk Inbox. We receive your name or username, your account ID, the message itself, any attachment links and the time it was sent.
We use these only to read and reply to your enquiry. Front Desk Inbox forwards each message to a private channel in our own Slack workspace, where only our team can see it; it keeps no copy of its own. We never use messages for advertising, never sell or share them, and never add you to a mailing list because you messaged us. The basis is legitimate interests: answering the enquiry you sent. We keep a message for as long as the enquiry or job it relates to is open, then delete it within twelve months, unless it becomes part of a contract or invoice we have to keep for six years.
Front Desk Inbox runs on Cloudflare and posts to Slack, both of which may process data outside the UK under standard contractual safeguards. Meta's own handling of your messages is covered by Meta's privacy policy.
Deleting your messages
Email privacy@incolor.film with your Instagram or Facebook name and the account you messaged, or send that request to us as a direct message. We will delete everything we hold from your messages, including the copies in Slack, within 30 days and confirm by reply. Deleting a conversation in Instagram or Messenger removes it from your side only, so please ask us as well.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, or ask us to restrict it. Write to privacy@incolor.film and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Processors
We use a small number of service providers to host the site, store submitted listings and send email. They process data on our instructions only, and data is held in the UK or the EEA.
Children
Field Recce is a professional tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. The sun chart computes in your browser; if you tap Use my position, your coordinates are used locally and never sent to us.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for anything material we will tell beta testers by email.
