The Jurassic Coast is a UNESCO World Heritage Site running from Exmouth to Studland — chalk stacks, limestone arches, shingle banks, fossil cliffs and hidden coves, most of it a short drive from Poole. Inland is Purbeck, Cranborne Chase and the Dorset Downs: castle ruins, heathland, hill forts, Georgian market towns and estate parkland. The light on the coast is different — clean, low, maritime — and the range within an hour's radius is hard to match anywhere else in England.

Much of the coast is private estate, National Trust or military land, and the good locations are permitted, not simply turned up at. We know who to call, what lead time each one needs, and where the tide tables and range firing days bite. We crew from the South West — Dorset, Bristol, Bath, Southampton — and bring London heads of department down when the job calls for it.

London to Poole in two hours.
Direct trains from Waterloo reach Poole in around two hours; by road it's the M3 and M27. Bournemouth Airport handles European arrivals. Crew and equipment can be in place the night before with no early call from London — which is usually the difference between a coast day that works and one that doesn't.

Common questions
Can you crew a shoot in Dorset without bringing everyone from London?
Yes. We crew from the South West as standard and bring London heads of department only when the job needs them. That keeps travel, accommodation and per diems down without compromising the department heads that matter.
How much notice do coastal permits need?
It varies by landowner. Some council beaches move in days; National Trust land and private estates can need several weeks, and some stretches are subject to military range firing schedules. Tell us early and we'll map the lead times against your dates.
Do you work with international productions shooting in Dorset?
Yes. Production service for inbound productions is a core part of what we do. We handle the UK side — crew, permits, logistics, tax relief guidance — and hand back the material to your team.
Is Dorset just for coast?
No. Inside an hour you have castle ruins, chalk downland, ancient woodland, Georgian towns, working harbours and estate houses. The coast is the headline; the range behind it is why productions come back.
